Who we are

Barber & Co Miami, LLC (“Barber & Co,” “we”) runs this website (https://www.barberandco.us) and the shops at 2699 Biscayne Blvd Suite 4, Miami, FL 33137 (Miami) and 9075 S Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL 33156. Email info@barberandco.miami.

This page describes what this site actually does with information. It is not legal advice. A Florida attorney should review it if you need a formal opinion.

Website assistant

The chat on this site is an automated assistant, not a person. Answers can be wrong. It does not hire anyone, approve credit, or complete a booking.

When you send a message we collect the text you type, the assistant’s reply, a random session id kept in your browser’s session storage, the page you were on, the time, your IP address, and token counts used to run the model. We send that conversation, not the IP address, to Vercel AI Gateway and the model provider we configure so the assistant can reply. We store the transcript in Upstash Redis for 90 days to run the assistant and review service quality, then it is deleted. We may review these chats to improve the website and service. That storage happens only for messages sent from the production site (https://www.barberandco.us). We do not sell chats.

Your IP address is used to limit abuse (up to 30 messages per hour, and that rate-limit key is kept for up to one hour) and, when the site can see it, is saved with the chat transcript for 90 days so the shop can review and block abuse and trace repeat visitors, then deleted. Each address is also limited to 100 messages per UTC day; that daily key lasts until the next UTC midnight. A separate daily budget key counts messages from every visitor for up to 48 hours and is separate from the transcript.

Do not send payment card numbers, government IDs, health details, or other sensitive information in the chat.

Email list

If you submit your email for the 10% offer, we send it to Formspree to run the list and email shop offers, including that code. Unsubscribe by emailing info@barberandco.miami. Marketing emails include our shop address and a way to stop them.

Careers applications

If you submit Apply Now, we send your answers to Formspree so we can review them for hiring. That includes the contact details, eligibility answers, and references you enter.

Booking and maps

Book Now opens Squire, a third-party booking service. We load Squire when you hover, focus, or tap a booking link, so booking can open quickly. Nothing from getsquire.com is stored before that. Booking then sets a cookie named __cf_bm on .getsquire.com for about 30 minutes. If the widget does not open, that link goes to Squire. Appointment details you enter there are handled under Squire’s privacy policy.

“Show map” loads a Google Maps embed. We do not load that map until you ask. In Chrome that embed did not set a cookie; the map request still goes to Google. Google’s privacy policy applies to that request.

One blog post (the Team Water stream with xQc) has a YouTube video. We do not load it until you press Play video. Then your browser loads the player from youtube-nocookie.com, a Google domain, and Google’s privacy policy applies to that request.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics cookies and similar technologies to measure traffic. On public pages we load one Tag Manager container, GTM-TVHZTNL2, which includes the Google tag for Analytics measurement ID G-E0E5KTS5YB (property 461451561). We do not add a second gtag config for that ID, so a page view is sent once. The container does not load on /admin. If the browser has Global Privacy Control on, we do not load Tag Manager. The chat can send event names only (chat open, chat message, book click, call click). Those events do not include the message text. Chats are stored for 90 days. Questions: info@barberandco.miami.

When Tag Manager runs, that tag can also call Google advertising services linked to this property. The browser may then store:

  • _ga on this site, 400 days — distinguishes browsers for Analytics
  • _ga_ followed by our Analytics measurement ID, on this site, 400 days — Analytics session state
  • _gcl_au on this site, 90 days — Google Ads conversion linker
  • _gcl_ls in local storage on this site, 90 days — the same conversion linker
  • test_cookie on .doubleclick.net, about 15 minutes — set by Google. We cannot delete this third-party cookie

You can opt out in your browser settings, with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, and with Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track where your browser supports them. When Global Privacy Control is on, this site does not load Tag Manager. test_cookie stays until it expires.

Sending a chat message stores a random id in session storage as barber-chat-session. It lasts until you close the tab. Show map does not add a cookie of its own. Play video, on the one blog post with a video, loads a YouTube player and YouTube may set its own cookies then; we did not check which. Booking is the first time a getsquire.com cookie appears.

Franchise inquiries

If you send the franchise message form on Join Us, we send your name, email, phone number, and message to Formspree so we can read and answer it. Do not put payment card numbers or other sensitive details in that message.

How long we keep it

  • Chat transcripts, including the IP address: 90 days, production site only, then deleted
  • Chat session id: until the tab closes
  • Chat rate-limit IP keys: up to 1 hour
  • Chat daily IP keys: until the next UTC midnight
  • Chat daily budget key: up to 48 hours
  • Admin sign-in failure keys: up to 15 minutes
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe or we delete it
  • Analytics cookies (_ga and the _ga_ cookie tied to our measurement ID): about 400 days, while Tag Manager is allowed to run
  • Google Ads linker _gcl_au and local storage _gcl_ls: about 90 days, while Tag Manager is allowed to run
  • DoubleClick test_cookie: about 15 minutes
  • Squire cookie __cf_bm: about 30 minutes
  • Booking records: Squire’s retention

Your choices

Email info@barberandco.miami to ask for a copy or deletion of a chat transcript or list signup. Tell us enough to find it — for a chat, around when you wrote and what you asked. We may not be able to match a transcript to you if you did not include a name or email.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will update this page when the site’s data practices change. The date at the top is the current version.
